I am a resident of Bethel Park, PA, and I, along with many other community members, believe that our neighborhood’s reputation, aesthetics, and property values are being negatively affected by the presence of the Tennyson Lodge Strip Club. Our town is already struggling with issues surrounding property tax and home sales in Allegheny County. To overcome these challenges and raise property values, we should be nurturing an environment void of nuisances, not harboring unsightly establishments that facilitate criminal activities.  We as citizens need to pressure Tennyson Lodge owner Janine Grosso to ideally close this venue, or if not that provide security and supervision lacking presently.

One need only look at the shooting and subsequent loss of life at Club Imperium on April 12th, an afterhours establishment featuring exotic dancers, to see the types of crime and violence rampant in these types of establishments.

The Tennyson Lodge Strip Club has become an epicenter for illicit activities, including lewd behavior, underage drinking, drug sales, and prostitution. Constantly overshadowed by these unsavory happenings, our lovely community is being marred and does not reflect our true essence. Even more concerning, this kind of establishment is known to increase crime rates in residential neighborhoods, as found in several studies [[Hipp et al., 2021 National Institute of Health.]

Through closing the Tennyson Lodge Strip Club, we are not only taking a stand against crime in our community but also signaling our commitment to enhance the appeal of Bethel Park. Let's strive to make our town a safer, cleaner, and more beautiful place to live. Please sign this petition to shut down the Tennyson Lodge Strip Club and protect the Bethel Park values we cherish.
