Shut down Riverwoods Behavioral Health Center

Shut down Riverwoods Behavioral Health Center
The Issue
I am writing this petition with a heavy heart and a sense of urgency that cannot be ignored. I have personally experienced the horrors within the walls of Riverwoods Behavioral Health Center, and it's imperative to shed light on the inhumane conditions that persist there. This is not only my story; it's the story of thousands who have been subjected to similar maltreatment.
During my time at Riverwoods, I endured unimaginable conditions that would make any reasonable person shudder. We had no access to clean water and the food provided was barely fit for consumption. One could only describe it as inhumane. To make matters worse, I was subjected to a violation of privacy that I will never forget—a male staff member filmed me while I was changing. This is a clear breach of trust and personal safety.
The staff, far from being supportive, were incredibly rude, making an already difficult situation unbearable. Communication with the outside world was virtually cut off, as no one, including my own parents, could reach the facility. I was even attacked by another patient. To top it all off, showers were frigid, and we were expected to sleep with only a single thin sheet.
These are not isolated incidents. Check the Google reviews of Riverwoods Behavioral Health Center, and you'll find numerous accounts of similar experiences. It’s high time for action. We cannot let such a place continue to operate when it’s systematically damaging patients who expect—and deserve—care and rehabilitation.
The goal of this petition is to urge the relevant authorities to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into Riverwoods Behavioral Health Center. All findings should be transparent and made public. They must take decisive action to shut it down to protect current and future patients from further abuse.
We need your help to make this happen. Please sign this petition to stand with me and the countless others who have been wronged. Together, we can demand accountability and bring about much-needed change.
