Shut Down Rail Yard Built Next to Homes and Wildlife Conservation Areas

CN Railway, Imperial Oil and their contractors have just built a rail yard to store 225 petroleum tank cars adjacent to homes and two protected wildlife conservation areas in Strathcona County, Alberta, Canada.
Rail yards are noisy, they're ugly, they smell, and they impact health, the environment, property values and overall quality of life. They belong in industrial areas. This ill-conceived rail yard was recently built without any neighboring landowner notification, no opportunities to object, no environmental or socio-economic assessments, and no measures to contain petroleum spills. Many federal laws have been breached during the construction and operation of this rail yard.
Nearby residents tried to stop construction of this rail yard, but were unsuccessful. Now we need to convince our federal government, CN Railway and Imperial Oil that this industrial facility must be shut down because this is the worst possible location for a rail yard.
