Shut Down My Lil Angels Houston Day Care After Children Left in Hot Car

Shut Down My Lil Angels Houston Day Care After Children Left in Hot Car
The Issue
Five children — not toddlers of the owner, but children left in her professional care — were found crying, red-faced, and distressed inside a hot car while the temperature outside reached 97 degrees. According to police, Domonique Wilson, owner of My Lil Angels day care in Houston, left the kids in the car for nearly 40 minutes while she went inside a Kroger store with her own two children. The car was reportedly off, with the windows barely cracked.
Wilson has now been charged with five counts of child endangerment. But the fact that this day care is still licensed and operational is unacceptable.
Parents trust child care providers with their most precious responsibility. That trust was not only broken — it was shattered. These kids were left in a situation that could have turned fatal. Every summer, we hear heartbreaking stories of children dying in hot cars. This time, it was only thanks to a witness who spotted them in distress that they were rescued before it was too late.
My Lil Angels has been in operation for over three years, but the conditions described by police suggest a total disregard for child safety. No parent should have to wonder if their child is being left in a vehicle while their caregiver runs errands.
We are calling on the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and local child care licensing authorities to immediately revoke the license of My Lil Angels and permanently shut it down. A person facing child endangerment charges should not be allowed to operate a facility where the lives of children are at stake.
If you believe no caregiver who risks children's lives should be trusted with a license, sign this petition. Let’s protect kids and send a clear message: child safety comes first — always.
