UNITED WE STAND

For many residents of Eersterust, the presence of drug houses has turned our once vibrant community into a battleground. The threat is not just to the health and safety of our younger generation, but it tears at the very fabric of our society. Daily, families fear for their children’s safety, and the community has been left to pick up the pieces from the damage these drug houses cause.

The drug trade in Eersterust is not just a distant issue; it is an immediate threat that affects each and every resident. Children are becoming ensnared in the world of drugs, and families are being left shattered. The time for action is now.

We call upon the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) for immediate intervention. It is crucial that all drug houses operating in Eersterust be shut down to restore safety and peace. Known drug dealers must face arrest and effective prosecution to dismantle the networks that empower crime.

Furthermore, we propose the deployment of a specialized Anti-Drug Task Team dedicated to fighting drug-related crimes in Eersterust. This team would focus on strategic enforcement and work alongside community leaders to provide support for rehabilitation and education initiatives.

Beyond policing, we ask the Gauteng Department of Community Safety to ensure continuous engagement with residents to build trust and cooperation, and to also offer educational programs that steer the youth away from drugs and crime.

This is a call to action for the SAPS Eersterust Station Commander, City of Tshwane MMC for Community Safety, Ward Councillor Benjamin Lawrence, and Gauteng Department of Community Safety. Take immediate steps to protect our community.

Sign this petition and help us reclaim Eersterust from the grip of drugs and ensure a safer environment for our families and future generations.
