Shut Down Dog Fighting in Savannah: No More Abusers on Our Streets

Shut Down Dog Fighting in Savannah: No More Abusers on Our Streets
The Issue
Dog fighting is happening right here in Savannah—and we can’t look away any longer.
Isaiah Goodman is facing 27 charges tied to a brutal dog fighting ring uncovered on Walton Street. Some of the dogs had open wounds. Some had neurological damage. These weren’t just signs of abuse—they were signs of torture. And shockingly, this isn’t the first time. Records show Goodman had 13 dogs seized back in 2017 for similar accusations. Only one mother and her puppies survived.
Why was someone with this history allowed back in our community? Why weren’t the systems meant to protect these animals—and us—stronger?
This isn’t just about one man. It’s about stopping a pattern. It’s about holding repeat offenders accountable and making sure no neighborhood in Savannah becomes the backdrop for this kind of horror ever again.
We demand that city and county leaders prioritize the prosecution of dog fighting cases, strengthen local animal cruelty laws, and support enforcement so this never happens again.
Let Savannah be the place that stood up and said: not here, not ever again.
Sign if you believe no animal—and no community—should ever be this vulnerable.
