Shut Down BrandArmy and Protect Minors on Social Media

The Issue

As a survivor of child sexual abuse and now a mother, I understand firsthand the threats that lurk unwittingly in the corners of our children's lives, especially on social media platforms. The company called BrandArmy, masquerading as a 'safe-for-work Only Fans', has caught my attention and concern. Profiles can be opened for children as young as THIRTEEN – however, require the subscribers to be EIGHTEEN. The result? Adults who can pay to view exclusive content featuring minors.

This reality is a haunting reflection of a more significant issue – the lack of stringent laws to safeguard children in social media content. In 2017, the IWF reported that over 80% of the depicted sexual abuse on the internet involved children aged 11 or younger, although global regulations remain lamentably inadequate. The need for effective legal protections isn’t just about curtailing a single platform like BrandArmy, but adopting stringent measures to deter the inappropriate and exploitative use of children across all social media.

With this petition, we urge lawmakers to regulate social media platforms, enhance children's online safety, and investigate platforms like BrandArmy along with these parent “managers” that seem to encourage inappropriate engagement with minors. We cannot stand idle while children's innocence is commodified and their safety jeopardized. Please sign this petition to combat these pressing issues.
