11th July 2016, today my kid has not gone to school. He has viral fever. He has been missing school for a few days now. There are flies hovering around everywhere spreading the viral infection. Though covering the food, infection finds its way to us. They breed in the rainy water stagnated everywhere. Leptospirosis, viral infections, nuemonia, diarrhoea etc spread in this season. Classrooms are half empty, because of illness. During heavy rains kids walk through the water till knees, wetting their clothes, making them sit in the class with wet clothes through out the day, ultimately causing sickness. Sick kids come to school so that their portion is not missed, spreading the illness to other kids and their families and so on. Schools give holidays in very heavy rains due to the traffic jam, and water logging, because kids can't reach on time and miss the school. The bags get wet drenching all their books and their hard work. There are all sorts of festivals during this season which further adds to the holidays. Then the teachers take extra class to finish the portions. If the system of vacation changes from summer to monsoons, #People can celebrate their respective festivals without any hurdle or tension of missing school and the studies. #Kids need not go through the difficulties of travelling in rain to reach school #Schools need not give unnecessary holidays #Tension free parents #No spreading of diseases through contact of kids with each other. There are many places where school are working in summer and vacations are in monsoons . Imagine the happy families, happy kids,and empty clinics, not good for doctors and medicals though. The doctors, the pharmacy would oppose because this will cause their sales to go down. Traveling agencies would oppose because of the same reason. But we have to go through all this and make monsoon vacations a reality and a dream come true. Together we can. Give vacations in monsoons and not in summer.
