In July 2017, I discovered a 15 year old foster child sexually abusing my six year old child. I took immediate action and notified the proper authorities.

Going through this process I have discovered that not all perpetrators are treated the same, especially if juvenile and a ward of the state. Here we are, over a year after the incident, and this perpetrator has been "protected". No sexual assault counseling...no jail time...no punishment... (He plead guilty!)

Child sexual abuse occurs in all populations, socioeconomic statuses, educational levels and across all cultural groups. Juveniles are responsible for committing serious sex offenses against minors as well as adults. In fact, it is reported that 40% of REPORTED sexual assaults against children can be attributed to juvenile abuses. Yet, juvenile's are protected under many laws that adults are not. WHY? Especially if they commit such a high percentage of the same crime!

My child has weekly therapy because of this monster. My child has night terrors because of this monster. My child has separation anxiety because of this monster. Why is my child the only one traumatized because of some 15 year old monster? 

I am asking that government officials look at these laws that are protecting juvenile sex abusers and match them with adult perpetrators. Why do laws very from county to county and state to state? IT IS THE SAME CRIME....RAPE!

There are no laws in place to protect other children from this monster...all because he is a juvenile...CHANGE NEEDS TO HAPPEN.
