The Issue

The Officers of the Office of Protection Services seeks to renegotiate our Collective Bargaining Agreement which hasn't been revised in over three decades. As a result of the current Collective Bargaining Agreement:
-Officers are forced to work SIX days before receiving two days off
- Forced to work overtime (extended hours) solely to generate money for the Smithsonian Institution, not due to a security emergency

OPS is currently phasing out the Officer position; which was initially created for veterans, and replacing the federal position with Contract Security.

Please show your support for the officers of OPS to help change these injustices.

First whoever you are you don't know anything about security or the Federal Government., and you are foolishly leading tghe security officers here at the smithsonian down the wrong l.lane. second nonme of the offficers who have allowed yoou to use their names have not been to one single union meetintg, do not tell me they dodn't know about the union or the meetins. second yu are not tryimg to help the officer you are a part of FO, well FOP tried that once before and they failed and they will faile againg because they are using people like you that don't know a hole in the wall from a hole in the broung, you don't if you shuod jump in for fall in. I t is obvious the you don't understand that this is a job, and these people are security. they need to understand the incidious demands on security officers that aere not placed on regular employees, you are going to cause some of these officer to lose their jobs.
