In 2022, after moving back to Logansport IN, we were disheartened to see the level of youth sports lagging behind the rest of the country. In an effort to address this, TJ, a resident of Logansport, initiated a sports training business aimed at helping those who could not afford the often high cost of private lessons, fees, gear, and more associated with sports participation. His goal was to provide a place for the youth in our town to foster their talent, keep out of trouble, and have a purposeful and exciting endeavor to look forward to.

When the opportunity arose for a free building allocation by the RDC, we were hopeful. However, it was deeply disappointing to discover that Sports Hideout was not considered in the second round of voting due to its non-profit status.

We believe that having such a facility open all year round would bring about considerable positive changes in our community, particularly for the youth and those less fortunate. Nonprofit organizations like Sports Hideout play a key role in community development and must be considered for free building allocations by the RDC.

We urge the RDC to revisit their decision and include Sports Hideout in their voting process to ensure fair representation and consideration for this impactful project.
