Trustees Cherrier, Blackman and Kuo were recently elected through GRASSROOTS EFFORTS by Dubliners to drive positive change and challenge the status quo. They were elected in direct response to years of poor decisions by other Trustees who had/have been in their seats for many years without term limit.

We express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Trustees Cherrier, Kuo and Blackman for their dedication towards ALL Dublin families, for stepping up to be the voices of Dubliners who wanted more accountability, transparency and end the cycle of overcrowding. They have achieved great progress in a short period of time, including:

● Second High School - They have finally made real progress on the second high school and are on track for a grand opening in about two years.
● Remodeling/reconstruction of schools - They have worked with stakeholders to approve modernization budgets for schools across the town.
● Effective Governance - They are making decisions with more rigor, balancing short term and long term needs in mind. They are working to address many complex inherited problems. Good governance means saying no at times and asking for more information or alternative scenarios.
● Fall Opening - They are pushing for a safe, agile and effective learning environment in the Fall that addresses the realities of Covid and the diverse needs of our TK-12 students.

Superintendent Dr. Marken resigned early from his interim position that was scheduled to end next May.

Transformational Change is not easy. Trustees Blackman, Kuo and Cherrier have experienced exceptional resistance from the established and entrenched. With these Trustees' leadership, DUSD will move forward and unite the community.

It is critical that we have Trustees that care about ALL of Dublin and push for the needed changes.
