Show Support For A New Indoor Skatepark In Edinburgh

The Issue

In 2023 the Edinburgh extreme sports scene has suffered two severe losses. The first being the closure of it's only indoor skatepark, the second being the end of the Meanwhile space which holds Leith DIY. Consequently we have found ourselves with a colossal problem - we have two skatepark's worth of timber which could be used for a new indoor park. The effect of having no indoor park on young people could be very damaging, without a space to express, find like-minded people and look out of each other it's proven that states of isolation, depression and disorderly behaviour can become much more common.

We are on a mission to gain access to a number of potential locations which could be our new home for the long winter months. This is why we are asking you to show solidarity, these processes can only be realised with enough backing behind them. If we can gain enough signatures quickly there may still be hope for this winter, we will be able to use this petition to back our case. As a scene we will push forward despite the odds.

The winter months are closing in, the days are shorter and the weather is becoming more gruelling by the day. Whether you or someone you know is into skating, rollerblading, BMXing or anything similar then please sign this petition and help our cause and keep the scene alive.
