The Issue

For many of us, moving to this small town was a decision driven by a desire for peace, tranquility, and a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. But now, a proposed 57 million dollar sports complex threatens to strip away the very essence of what brought us here in the first place. This large-scale development is not just an infrastructure project; it's a catalyst for change that could irrevocably alter the character and serenity of our beloved community.

Our town, with its charming, quiet streets and closely-knit community, is at risk of transforming into a commercial hub, bustling with traffic, noise, and congestion. If the arena is built, we can expect a surge in population, increased vehicular traffic, and a strain on our town's resources and public services. It poses a risk to our local businesses, which thrive on the unique appeal of our town's small charm. The promise of economic growth brought by the arena is overshadowed by the potential detriment to our community's well-being and environment.

There's also the financial toll to consider. A considerable sum of millions of dollars is earmarked for this project, money that could be better utilized in enhancing our community's existing amenities and infrastructure. Why are we investing in an arena when our schools, roads, and public facilities need funding? Instead of channeling funds into a massive center that caters more to outsiders than to our residents, we should focus on projects that preserve our town's heritage and improve the quality of life for all who live here.

We urge our local government to reconsider this proposal, to prioritize the needs and desires of its residents over commercial interests. We need your support to send a strong message: Protect our town from unwanted and unnecessary urbanization. Join us in opposing The Show Low  Proposed Sports Complex and stand up for the future of our community.

Please sign this petition to let your voice be heard. Together, let's preserve the spirit and character of our cherished town for generations to come.
