Shorten the Name of the Letter W to "Dub"

Shorten the Name of the Letter W to "Dub"
The issue
As a child, I struggled with the complexities of the English alphabet. My parents sacrificed greatly to provide me with an education, and yet I found myself stumbling over one letter in particular - W. This letter, taking three syllables to pronounce and often written as a double-v rather than a double-u, seemed unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming. It was this inefficiency that led me to fail my kindergarten graduation test by one point, resulting in what I thought of as a waste of my parents' money.
Now, as an emotionally scarred adult, I propose we rename the letter W to "Dub". This change would not only simplify pronunciation but also increase academic efficiency. Slightly questionable studies suggest that this alteration could potentially speed up alphabet learning time for kindergarten-aged children by between 2% and 60%.
Moreover, it would set a precedent for future improvements within our language system. For instance, consider the redundancy of 'qu' when it can always be replaced by 'kw'. By starting with "Dub", we can pave the way for further enhancements.
Let's make our language more efficient and accessible for everyone - especially those who struggle like I did as a child. Please sign this petition if you agree that it's time we change W to "Dub".
