This year (Hindu Lunar calendar) date of 23rd of June is the coronation King ceremony of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Thithi Nusar (Hindu Lunar calendar / a Panchanga as it is called.), one of the most respected and revered kings of India. Ever since, the day is celebrated annually as Shivarajyabhishek Sohala in great enthusiasm. Followers and ancestors of the great leader mark it with a traditional event on the Raigad fort.

Tithi is a day of the Hindu Lunar calendar or a Panchanga as it is called. A Hindu lunar month consists of two fortningts, each beginning with Amavasya ( new moon day ) or paurnima (full moon day ). It is called Chandramana 'Masa'.

Every year, a Shivaji Maharaj Rajyaabhishek Sohala is organized on Fort Raigad, where people come in lakhs to celebrate their glorious kind by singing songs, dancing, and revisiting the history of the Maratha kingdom.
