To give students an option on canceling or refunding class money from South Texas College
The Issue
This semester in South Texas college every student who had signed up for in class has been forced to take online classes for the remainder of the semester . For many of us this change has been very difficult. Not just students but for professors as well. With this in mind I’ve decided to make a petition on having an option on cancelling our classes and getting our money back to help us in this pandemic going on for ourselves, family, and others who are in need of support. Students who have been helped with FASFA and want to cancel their classes should receive their money from this semester to their next on going semester.
Many students who chose to be in class students may be experiencing difficulties. Whether it’d be something financially, education wise, or other personal reasons. Every student has a different way of learning. For many students it can be hands-on learning. Without being an in class student, many of us may struggle not being in class and may find it harder to understand the topic and instructions given from a professor without asking questions in that exact moment.
As for professors this may also be very difficult for them as well as this may be the first time teaching online classes. Being unprepared for this situation can be hard especially when they have a family of their own to take care of as well. Having very little knowledge of teaching online classes can even cause students to fail due to them not having the right guides ,instructions, or difficulties of understanding a subject without asking questions.
I would like to email the president of our school who is Shirley A. Reed who has the power to make this an option. Before I even take that step I would like to have as many people signing my petition to be the voice of many people who need a change in this pandemic. I appreciate you for taking the time to read my petition and would appreciate your support.
