Currently walking access to Birdsland from the Upwey side is via Nixon Rd or McNichol Rd. This limits the numbers of people who can walk in there and enjoy its charms.

By putting through a walking path from Hazelvale Rd, via the paddock (opposite 48 Hazelvale Rd), which incidentally is actually part of Birdsland Reserve, through to the Birdsland car park it would open the park to people who typically have to drive to get there. Or, who would never go there because of the drive involved. Birdsland is a great amenity which could relatively easily be connected to Upwey for walkers. 

Also students from Belgrave Heights Christian school would be able to use it to walk to school from the Upwey area....rather than have their parents drive them

The council is aware of this but may never do this as it is a low priority project. Sign this petition so they will become more motivated to explore this issue and put forward sufficient resources to complete it.
