Emailed invoices and electronic payment, Reduction of unfair penalties

The Issue

Invoices are sent out by mail only in the same month (February) that they are due. The mail out can continue but an option to have your invoice emailed should be added for those who won’t be able to receive the mailed out copy.

The payment is due too quickly after the invoice is received. The payment shouldn’t be due until April 1st.

The payment is currently accepted by cheque or bank draft. payments also should be able to be direct deposited or etransfered directly to the SPID account.

Late fines are levied at an unbelievable 15% rate. Changing the payment due date to April 1st allows more time to organize payment.

The rate of the fine is far to high. There is no reason for a rate above 5%.

The ratepayers should receive fair service for the taxes they pay.
