As parents, students, and alumni of Budlong Elementary School in Budlong Woods, Chicago, Illinois, we find ourselves deeply concerned about the systemic issues that have been overlooked for far too long within our beloved institution. This petition seeks to bring attention to the pressing concerns of our community and demand accountability from the school's administration.

For years, serious issues affecting our students have been consistently swept under the rug by the administration. Moreover, there is a troubling pattern of abuse of power within the administration, where favoritism is shown towards staff and parents/students who hold positions of influence within the school community and blindly support the actions of the principal.

What's most disheartening is the apparent culture of favoritism that permeates the institution. Parents who ally with the principal seem to receive preferential treatment, while others who voice concerns are marginalized. This fosters an environment of inequality and discourages open dialogue, which is detrimental to the growth and integrity of our school.

These issues are not mere anecdotes; they are the reality for many of us within the Budlong family. We call for transparency and accountability from the administration. Our students deserve a nurturing, inclusive environment where every child, regardless of background or ability, is given an equal opportunity to thrive.

We propose the establishment of a transparent forum where parents, students, and faculty can discuss and address these concerns openly. We call for regular audits of the administration's practices and the implementation of measures to ensure equal treatment for all students.
