Plant mini forest in New Flower Estate (opposite Roman Ridge)

Plant mini forest in New Flower Estate (opposite Roman Ridge)
The Issue
There's an unused piece of land in front of Roman Ridge care home (New Flower Estate, Wincobank). It requires periodic cutting by tractor and is not attractive to look at. Lack of regular maintenance and vision for the land result in frequent complains to the council by home owners and care home residents.
Proposed solution is to use the land as a tree planting community project. Sheffield has got a long standing reputation as a green city and there are great air quality and mental wellbeing befits of being surrounded by trees. Using the land in this way we'll put a stop to any development plans which would be detrimental to our neighbourhood. By carefully selecting native and slow growing trees, we'll be able to enjoy great panorama of Greno Woods for years to come.
Timing is on our side as there seems to be momentum behind this project. People throughout UK are encouraged to plant trees to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022. Our local councillor Alan Law (Labour Councillor Firth Park Ward) is supportive of this project.
If you'd like to transform wasteland into mini forest, we need to convince Sheffield Council there's strong community support behind this project. Please sign and share this petition.
