Valley Road, Upper Valley Road and Rushdale Road are residential roads in Sheffield near to Meersbrook Park and Carfield Primary school, by Sheffield standards they are fairly flat and straight which I believe encourages the sort of speeding I have witnessed during the 4 years I have lived in the area. They are without speedbumps, unlike neighbouring roads (Albert Road, Meersbrook Park road etc). Although there are signs indicating a 20mph speed limit many users fail to adhere to it. I witness drivers speeding well over 20mph on a daily basis and have even had one driver overtake me whilst I was driving at 20mph.

A lot of children cross these roads going to and from Carfield school, as well as the local secondary school and the park. It is only a matter of time before a child is knocked down, most likely by a speeding driver. I have asked my local MP to take action but they have so far failed.

I would like speed bumps installed down the full length of these 3 roads and potentially a speed camera installed on Valley Road. 

We must prevent a tragedy from taking place, not wait until one does happen before taking action. There are a lot of young families in this area including my own, the safety of all children is paramount, which is why I am taking further action and asking you to help me apply pressure to the council.
