Hi Everyone! 

     My name is Ashley O'Neal Gregory. I am starting this petition to Shatter the Silence and End the Stigma. In 2024-2025 school year 3 students in our county have died by suicide. This weighs heavy on my heart as I lost my late fiance to suicide in December 2023. It has been the absolute hardest thing I have ever been through. No one should ever feel they have no other way out. We as a community have got to step up and fight for change.

    Our children should not be taking their own lives. Bullying plays a big part of why children feel they have no other choice. We have got to end the stigma, hold bullies accountable, and hold administration accountable. We have got to Shatter the Silence and stop sweeping it under the rug. Instead of trying to cover up what is going on it needs to be addressed and talked about. These beautiful lives taken to soon is horrific, but until we fight together as a community we will not see change. Without change we will continue to see this horrific tragedy unfold before our eyes.

   We as a community must act now. The Beaufort County School district must implement change immediately to prevent this from continuing to happen. We as parents must also speak with our children about bullying and the horrific things that can happen when someone is bullied. If we do not advocate and protect our children no one else will.
