The shared spaces between Shirley Boys' and Avonside Girls' High School are currently unfair and barely used. Currently the cultural courtyard and outdoor area by the cafeteria are Avonside Girl spaces only. The current outdoor interval spaces can feel crowded, get extremely loud, fights and flying food is common. The two schools can feel this way which affects all the students, which is why we want to change this. 

With each school constantly growing each year the eating spaces will increasingly become crowded and awful. If nothing changes then these spaces will only get worse. 

This change is desperately needed for students, the current spaces are only getting worse and it has been almost 5 years since the spaces were open to Shirley students. We talked to senior management and they said that the school is open to a change to the current rules, which is why now is the time to change it.
