SGWASA customers have along history of distrust and lack of confidence in the water provided by SGWASA, which, in the past, posted 27 violations in 13 years, and some even believe either their pets, plants, or their own health have encountered adverse health issues, as a result of using or consuming the water.  Although SGWASA recently spent $13+ million on overdue repairs and upgrades, as recently reported in the  July 30, 2022, edition of the B/C News, they still could not locate the source of a "sewer smell' emanating from the sewer system.  Ongoing issues such as this one, or pipes breaking, coupled with recent EPA advisories regarding PFAS's, and the prevelance of them in most water sources, led to the action for this petition.

Water filters can remove odors, colors, and most harmful contaminants , all of which have shown up in SGWASA water.  Customers are paying a 'premium' price for the water provided by SGWASA, and they would like to have peace of mind when using it.  Filters can provide that 'peace of mind.'

This petition is for the South Granville Water & Sewer Authority to provide,, at no cost, appropriate filters to customers who request one.
