SGB (stellate ganglion block) treatment for Mental Health sufferers on the NHS!
The Issue
Hello,
There is a treatment for sufferers of PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Panic attacks, Paranoia that I feel should be available for our armed forces and for any person suffering with mental health problems on the NHS. It is currently available in private clinics in the UK but you are looking at costs of £1000+ to get it done. This procedure is called a Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB).
Placing an anaesthetic agent on the stellate ganglion, in an anaesthetic procedure called Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB) can relieve the symptoms of PTSD in as little as 30 minutes and last for years. SGB “reboots” the sympathetic nervous system to its pre-trauma state, similar to a computer reboot.
It has a success rate of 85-90% and in medical studies the shortest the treatment has lasted is nine years before another injection was needed.
This quick procedure really can give many people their lives back and it will most certainly drop the current suicide rate in this country from armed forces veterans and people suffering from mental health problems in our society dramatically.
It is a miracle, it is being used successfully in the United States and has been used as a treatment for severe pain since the 1920's.
This treatment could save many lives and it just baffles me as to why this is not available on the NHS for people with mental health problems but is available for people with pain problems.

I could go on providing links to scholarly articles but will stop there.
Please can we have this available on the NHS and help so many people suffering from these illnesses. So many lives can be saved.
Thank you for your time.
