This petition is to urge the FAA to set a Size/Weight limit to all passengers for commercial air travel of no more than either a waist to height ratio of 0.70 or weight of 300 pounds.

This is urged for multiple reasons including:

Danger to all passengers aboard the aircraft should an emergency evacuation of the aircraft be necessary.

Danger to passengers sitting in proximity to the oversized passenger who may be taking up more space than has been safety tested for one individual to accommodate. These seats are not designed to have someone sit across them.

Danger to the obese passenger who is occupying multiple seats not designed to be used in such a fashion.

The FAA needs to take action before a serious event happens that costs the lives of passengers due to the danger of decreased evacuation capabilities, or in flight event resulting in avoidable injury to the obese passenger or passengers around them.

For these reasons we once again urge the FAA to set a size/weight limit for commercial airline travel of a waist to height ratio of 0.70 and/or a weight of 300 pounds.
