On the first Sunday in May, we are again tying ribbons to fences as an act of support to victims and survivors of child sexual abuse. The ribbons also give a voice for those who didn’t survive and for those who are struggling to be heard. We have the support of the Principals of Beaumaris Primary School, Beaumaris North Primary School and Sandringham Secondary College, and the following are the fence locations for the tying of ribbons. The Sandringham Secondary College is the site of what was Sandringham Technical College.

  • Beaumaris Primary School
    Herbert Street fence opposite,13 Herbert
  • Beaumaris North Primary School
Wood Street, in front of the basketball / netball court.
  • Sandringham Secondary College
Holloway Street, Sandringham, on the new permanent fence line in front of the Theatre building, not on any of the temporary fences.

The Danny Frawley Centre and St Kilda Football Club are continuing their support of LOUD fences, and have let us know that In Good Faith Foundation staff will be available and supporting the tying of ribbons on the oval fence, in front of the Danny Frawley Centre from 10.30 AM on Sunday 7th May, 2023.

We haven't heard from the Principal of Haileybury College, so are advising:

  • Haileybury Brighton
120 South Rd, Brighton East, between gates 1 and 2, which was the location of the 2022 LOUD fence
  • Haileybury Keysborough
Springvale Road, Keysborough, on the fence line between gates 1 and 2, where ribbons won't interfere with any shrubbery against the fence.

The Grand Secretary and General Manager of Freemasons Victoria regarding LOUD fences this year gave us this response. "I am looking at whether the Freemasons Foundation, which is a separate organisation and who may be able to assist the (LOUD fence) movement in the future. I am also speaking with the governing Councils of Freemasons Victoria to work out how we as an organisation may be able to support your efforts moving forward." It is a step in the right direction, comparative to their response in 2022. We will keep you updated on any progress made on Freemasons LOUD fences in the future.

We are so grateful for the ongoing support of our local communities, thank you so much.
