Bring Thor Home

The Issue

Back in January, my AKC registered, ESA/dog Thor was stolen. He’s a 2 year old Belgian Malinois (intact, or should be unless they’ve done something about that..). I’ve recently found out that the breeder I got him from was the one to steal him.  The people he was offering my dog to (one of which reached out to inform me, hence how I come to find out) had no interest in him, and he donated him to a ptsd service dog organization in Bartlesville OK.  Upon confronting the breeder, I was ignored, blocked on social media, and have not been responded to.

I reached out to the organization who confirmed to the girl who reached out that he had my dog. When I told him who I was and that I wanted my dog back, he began issuing threats of a lawsuit, police watch, etc.  He did get in that if I could show proof ownership, he had no problem giving the dog back. Despite further threats to cease contact I gave what he asked. I emailed him proof of ownership. He has not responded and is ignoring and refusing my attempts to get my dog back. He has informed that my boy has been placed in a foster/family for a 4-6 Wk trial. Said family is said to be on the OK/MO line and consists of a mother and her daughter, both who lost the husband/father who was serving in the military.

I doubt they know the circumstances in which the dog was acquired. Nonetheless, he is not a candidate for service dog as he is a protection dog first and foremost and has been trained in bitework. He WILL bite if rushed or pushed by strangers, he’s done it plenty of times (has never actually bit but had they not stopped at his final warning or moved their hand, a bite was what was next).

I fear for his safety as well as others and I’m honestly worried there’s a possibility they’re medicating him. I hope not, but nonetheless it’s a disaster waiting to happen.  I miss my boy and he needs to be back with his person (me) and family who know him, love him undyingly, and care for him, his handler (me) who knows how to handle him, keep him calm under pressure, know his cues and how to manage him.  The person who took him (who KNOWS our plans and what he was used for and KNOWINGLY donated a reactive dog) and the organization who have him are not only doing both of us a lot of heart ache, they’re setting him for failure.

Thor deserves more than to be given up on. With that said I will never stop until I have him back with me.  If the people who took him actually cared about him, they wouldn’t be doing him like this and he would be back with me (and honestly never been taken at all). I don’t blame the family he is with currently but I do worry for their safety as well as my boys. The last thing I need is for him to bite the wrong person and get put down.  That is why it’s so urgent he get back as quickly as possible, besides the fact I’ve had a giant void in my heart since he was taken.. it’s no longer an emotional and illegal issue, it’s also a safety liability for all involved.

Please, for my boys sake, please sign. Help bring him home. Share the word, especially around OK/MO and especially around the border there in case that is actually where he is. I’ve been searching 2 months and it hurts that I’ve come this far just to be declined my heart and soul coming back to me.  I’ve raised this dog since he was 12 wks old and he’s 2 years now.. we’ve worked so hard together and he’s always been there for me. It’s my turn to be there for him and get back to his safe place.  Thank you all
