Between the date that contracts end, and the date when, the following semester, they begin again, contract faculty are without benefits. They and their families must either pay out of pocket, or forgo medical needs such as physiotherapy, psychotherapy, chiropractic services, massage services, among many others. 

Working on contract, never knowing if you will be employed in the following semester, is stressful enough. To be denied access to necessary medical and paramedical services between semesters only causes more stress. In a time of unprecedented stress, it is more harmful than ever to deny contract faculty access to services. 

We call on Seneca College to bridge benefits between semesters for contract faculty. It is the fair and just thing to do, and we urge Seneca to live up to its principles.
