Remove Drug and Alcohol Boarding Facility From Our Neighborhood
The State of New Jersey has approved a Class F License to a company to establish a Drug and Alcohol Boarding Facility to occupy a home on 118 Bethel Avenue in Groveville, New Jersey. Since the tenants have moved in, who are in fact, not yet sober, there have been multiple instances where families in the neighborhood are feeling their children's safety is in jeopardy (recent example involving a bus stop in the morning). While we are not disproving of anyone seeking out sobriety, this type of facility should not be in an area that is highly populated with children. The rules and regulations surrounding what a company needs to get approval for a Class F. License needs to be changed. These types of companies are only in the business to make money, and it should be in a properly zoned area, not in residential communities in Mercer County. Some examples of where other "sober" living facilities are located, which were established without giving any single notifications to residents of the communities are: 1445 Nottingham Way; 324 Whitehead Road; 2280 Hamilton Avenue; 345 Bunting Avenue; 125 Merrick Road; and 25 Tattletown Road. We have reached out multiple times to the Senator, the Assemblypeople, and the Congressman with no reply back. We were told if we "make some noise", we will see some change. So please, help us protect our neighborhood and children, and sign this petition to removing this type of facility from our backyard!
