Tim Raymond started this petition to Senator David Littleproud and

I'm petitioning the government to put to use and invest in desalination plants to give much needed water security to areas of our country currently experiencing severe drought conditions and the prospect of running out of potable water .

The Australian government is full of excuses and continue to place bandaids on an issue that requires immediate attention and action..

I ask the government to consider desalination as a means to an end , by all means build new dams and infrastructure to support water security but fill the dams with desal water please , technology is available and it can be viable , it's not a drought fix it's a water security fix for a critical situation ..

We can't keep arguing what is best , there's so many reasons desalination is the best short term medium resolution to a dire situation ..

High power costs shouldn't be the reason we have no water ..

I ask these ministers if you grab a shovel walk outside dig a hole how long before it fills with water can you guarantee it will fill with water ?

California recently invested in building desal plants and they're experiencing a 1 in 500 year drought .. I believe it costs just 1.4 billion US dollars

Scott Morrison you say there's 7 billion over ten years that surely is enough to get something actually done ..

Let's show these guys we support real water security options
