Nearly 7 years ago I was sexually assaulted twice and it was an organization that was funded by the Violence Against Women's Act that showed me what options I had as a victim. They paid for the lawyer I needed to get a restraining order, they went with me to court, and they checked on me daily. 

1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men become victims of domestic violence in their lifetime. The Violence Against Women's Act provides grants for organizations to provide services to victims/survivors.
