Many people purchased "Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War" and its three expansion packs well before Steam introduced its new refund system. Recently, players became unable to obtain CD Keys to the games and expansions they had purchased. This severely hampers the player's ability to play the game because multiplayer content is restricted to the games that the player has keys for. As such, even if the player has purchased the game and all the expansions through Steam, they still won't be able to play as a specific race because Steam can't give the players the needed keys.

Sadly, a pirated copy of the game functions better than legally-obtained copies, again due to the lack of keys SEGA has distributed.

"Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War" is truely an amazing game, but SEGA's failure to give the player a key to the game they own is outright criminal. This is wrong and needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Dozens of support tickets have been submitted to SEGA and Valve asking for the issue to be resolved, but to no avail - Steam can't generate keys and directs us to SEGA. SEGA refuses to answer these tickets and will not distribute keys to the affected.
