The first video game that engaged me deep into a story was Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure, by SEGA. The game came out in Japan in early 2012, and sadly ended with a "to be continued". Although the director, Shun Nakamura, would be interested in making a sequel, that was a few years back.

It's 3 years later, and no official plans for a sequel have come out. Once I finished the game, I wrote a letter to SEGA, practically begging for a sequel, and although I got a reply, my questions for a follow-up game were not answered. The game didn't sell super well, but got positive reviews from critics and fans alike. The game actually got a small spin-off title on the Apple App Store, but it had some bugs and did not contain the full story like its 3DS counterpart.

I've been able to talk with some other fans and see what they are up to. One has a blog dedicated to the days following the release of the days, waiting to hear what Phantom R is up to. Another is releasing their own fanmade sequel, but what all fans of Rhythm Thief want is to see our favorite art thief again. We saw parts and bits of what happened after the story mode through unlockable chapters, but it just left us wanting more.

That's why I made this petition, so the fans, including myself, can get a part 2 in the musical Paris of Rhythm Thief. We are a small, yet dedicated group, and I think with enough signatures, we can get a follow-up title for the Nintendo consoles. It would be fantastic. I remember crying at the end of the game. I wanted to know, "Will Raphael and Marie meet again, possibly becoming more than friends?"

Maybe we will find out, fellow gamers. Maybe you can make it happen.
