Seeking Justice for Unfair Dismissal and Disability Discrimination

Seeking Justice for Unfair Dismissal and Disability Discrimination
The Issue
Introduction: We are writing this petition to seek justice for an employee who faced unfair dismissal and disability discrimination. Despite being diagnosed with diabetes, they dedicated years of service to a multinational corporation.
Chronology of Events:
Employment Beginnings: The petitioner started working for the multinational corporation.
Unjust Redundancy: The corporation made the petitioner redundant shortly after this email citing perceived future sickness absence due to diabetes. The petitioner did not have high blood pressure as shown in medical records, so it is thought that the reference to "high blood pressure" was possibly meant to be high blood sugar, which the petitioner also didn't have as shown by medical records. Remarkably, the petitioner had taken only 2 days sick leave in the previous 18 months due to influenza, while the country’s average sick leave was 8 days in 12 months at that time. The petitioner did casually mention stress levels to his manager earlier that month due to working on the two largest contracts in the team.
Legal Battle:
Lower Court: The lower court dismissed all claims, including disability discrimination.
Appeals: Both the lower appeal court and higher court upheld the dismissal of appeal points related to disability discrimination.
Highest Court: The highest court ruled it lacked jurisdiction to hear the appeal, including disability discrimination.
International Forums: Despite clear evidence of discrimination, an international court and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities declared the application inadmissible.
Call to Action: Legal cases can set dangerous precedents. We urge you to sign this petition to prevent this case from becoming a harmful legal citation. Let’s stand together against discrimination and fight for equal rights in the workplace.
Petition Targets:
10,000 signatures: Petition politician.
50,000 signatures: Petition diabetes organization.
100,000 signatures: Petition police to look into case.
250,000 signatures: Petition government.
500,000 signatures: Petition highest court.
750,000 signatures: Petition the United Nations.
1,000,000 signatures: Petition another international court and international police.
