Thousands of government employees are being laid off due to recent changes. These federal workers have families to support, and the loss of their jobs has a significant impact on their children, including on their mental, physical, and financial well-being. Government workers who are still employed are being called to work full-time in their respective facilities with minimal or no workplace flexibilities, causing thousands of kids to lose their primary caregivers and rides to school, sports, and other activities. It is our responsibility as the children and allies of these federal employees to speak out about these impacts on our families, siblings, and community. We urge that our state legislators stand with and protect the interests of children coming from federal employees' families.
