This petition is born out of deep sorrow and intense indignation. Megan Khung was merely a four-year-old child, helpless and vulnerable, when she lost her life following more than a year of intolerable physical and emotional abuses. It shakes us to our core that any human being, let alone an innocent child, could endure such torment.

The sentence handed down to her murderers is too light and does not deliver basic justice. This case prompts us to reassess our justice system's adequacy in deterring and penalizing such heinous acts. We cannot, in good conscience, allow a lenient sentence to set a dangerous precedent. We must protect the most helpless and innocent among us, the children.

We call on the judicial authorities to review Megan's case and impose a penalty reflective of the severity of the crime, not only to rectify this case but also to send a robust message against child abuse.
