I am deeply moved to start this petition due to a personal connection with the tragic event that unfolded on June 8, 1967. The attack on the USS Liberty has left an indelible mark on me and my people. On that fateful day, 34 American servicemen lost their lives and more than 170 were wounded when Israeli forces attacked the USS Liberty in international waters off Egypt's Gaza Strip (source: NSA/CSS). This incident remains one of the deadliest attacks on a U.S. Naval vessel in peacetime history.

Despite numerous investigations into this incident, many questions remain unanswered and justice has yet to be served. The survivors and families of those who perished deserve closure and recognition for their sacrifice.

We urge our government representatives to reopen investigations into this matter, ensuring transparency, accountability, and justice for all involved. We believe it is high time we shed light upon this dark chapter of our history so that those affected can finally find peace.
