I never do things like this but to honest were running out of options and are desperate now.

Our son, has Autism, and learning disabilities.
He requires constant supervised care as he is unable to look after himself.

He has no siblings, or other people who are able to look after him.

So when me and my partner are gone he is on his own and that causes us no end of sleepless nights worrying what life will be like for him without us.

By selling my late Parent's home we are looking to buy a main family home to live in and for my son to have secure place to live  where he never has to worry about being kicked out.

We have rented for 20 years and this is like  a lottery win to us if we manage to get this dream fulfilled but unfortunately there is a big obstacle. 

My deceased parents property has a short lease which needs extension for us to sell and make enough back after legal fees to move and buy a small family home in the cheaper parts of the  UK. However, this extension requires a marriage value payment of £44000 - an amount we simply cannot find. To add insult to injury, my Uncle and Aunt who somehow got the Freehold over my father refuses to waive this fee despite being close family for 58 years.

It feels like the ultimate betrayal all your memories being trashed because of greed.

I have been raised to believe in the institution of family and it should be a sacred thing but because were not money motivated and neither were my parents they and now us are being exploited for financial gain by supposed people who I thought all my lifetime cared enough for me to be there when I needed their help.

Our plea through this petition is twofold; firstly we seek your support in urging our "Family" to waive Marriage Value for the lease extension  so that our Son can have the best chance of a secure future without us and we don't have to die with the fear he will day not have a place to live.

Even worse god forbid when were not around being swallowed by a care system.

Secondly we want policy makers to hold true to their word and introduce the Leasehold Reform bill changes and especially this idea that you need to pay a Freeholder Marriage Value for owning your own property 

Your signature can make a difference not just for our Son  but also many others like us who are in this situation who deserve better from society and held hostage by Draconian laws surrounding leasehold reform and Marriage Value and the power it gives Freeholders.

I can then show the signatures to my Greedy Uncle and Aunt which I'm hoping will convince them there are people other us that think that what they are doing is wrong.
