Many of these workers, who are integral to the functioning of our society, find themselves in contract or outsourcing roles, leaving them vulnerable to job insecurity and inadequate compensation. It's time we push for meaningful reform.

First and foremost, the Andhra Pradesh government must implement stringent safety protocols that protect these workers from the inherent dangers of their jobs. This includes the provision of high-quality safety gear and mandatory training sessions that prepare them to handle emergencies efficiently. Moreover, a comprehensive review of work conditions and pay structures must be conducted to ensure fair compensation that reflects the risks they undertake.

Secondly, I urge the government to consider converting these contract roles into permanent positions with all the associated benefits. Permanent employment would not only provide financial stability to these workers but also demonstrate our collective recognition and respect for the invaluable service they render.

Finally, there must be a framework in place that offers immediate financial support to the families of those who are unfortunately lost to occupational hazards. The government should establish a dedicated welfare fund to support bereaved families, ensuring they are not left to fend for themselves after losing a primary breadwinner.
