As a junior student at Da Vinci, I – like many others – look forward to our district-wide dances. WiBall, especially, is an opportunity to make memories with friends, and foster a sense of community among my fellow students. However, the current allocation of 75 tickets for Da Vinci students significantly restricts our participation. Though we are a smaller school, I want Da Vinci students to feel like they are just as entitled to inclusion as DHS students are. This petition seeks to remedy this issue, asking the administration to increase the number of tickets allocated for Da Vinci students from 75 tickets to 150.

According to a survey by 'Challenge Success', participation in school activities like dances contributes to students' social-emotional learning and healthy development. The joy and bonding at these events can often serve as counterbalances to academic stress. For Da Vinci students not to miss out on these important experiences, we respectfully request that the school administration reconsider the limitation on dance tickets.

In the spirit of fairness and inclusivity, we urge the decision makers to accommodate more Da Vinci students at district-wide dances. This action will greatly benefit the social experience of Da Vinci students and also increase the district’s overall sense of community.
