This is a plea from the distraught heart of a loving grandparent in Fulton County, GA, USA. In an unprecedented occurrence, both of my granddaughter's parents tragically passed away, leaving her in a world of desolation and vulnerability. However, what happened next is even more horrifying. The money that was left for her inheritance was unscrupulously taken by non-blood relatives and certain court workers through manipulative court processes. In a vein attempt for financial gain, her birth certificate was callously altered by these non-relatives. I have undeniable written proof of these actions.

This shocking ordeal is more than a gross violation of trust; it's an horrific transgression on the rights of a minor by those who were supposed to protect her. It brazenly exhibits the disintegration of our system put in place for safeguarding minors, which had a responsibility to prevent such malevolent actions.

It is essential to note that in 2019, 284,000 children in Georgia were reportedly living with relatives other than the parents - a likely scenario in case a child loses their parents (Data from the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s KIDS COUNT Data Center). However, the ethical and legal circumvention by non-blood relatives, as experienced in our case, is an abhorrent abuse of this arrangement.

It is disheartening that our legal and protective systems can be so easily manipulated for monetary gains, leaving the innocent lives they are supposed to protect in despair. This petition aims to fight for justice for my granddaughter, and other potentially vulnerable children who might face similar circumstances.
