Payrise for nurses, allied health care, paramedics and social care workers.

Payrise for nurses, allied health care, paramedics and social care workers.
The Issue
The above-inflation pay rise announced by the chancellor on Tuesday will see almost 900,000 workers benefit, with teachers and doctors seeing the largest increase at 3.1% and 2.8% respectively, according to the Treasury.
Not to forget, however, the public sector worker's wages were frozen for two years up to 2013, then capped at 1% “rises” (well below inflation) for a further five.
The combined effect of these real-term cuts meant that by 2018 a worker on the average public sector wage had nearly £7,000 less buying power a year than they had in 2009... but that's another debate for another time.
The clear omission from the list of public sector workers is our nurses, HCA's, Allied health care, paramedics, therapists, pharmacists and social and support care staff.
The nation clapped every Thursday for their hardwork and resilence during this pandemic, which according to experts is here to stay, therefore this move is nothing short of an unjustifiable snub.
These past few months have been an incredibly challenging time for our NHS and social care system, and it is imperative that ALL frontline staff are recognised and rewarded as such, not just us doctors... it was nothing but a team effort!
So I'm requesting the Secretary of State to consider a very deserved rise for the entireity of our NHS Staff.
