The Issue

We call on SG Sibonelo Nomvalo to step aside from his position as uMkhonto weSizwe Secretary General and as a LGE2026  deployee of Gauteng Province so the party can begin to heal and rebuild trust. Many of us have watched the damage grow for too long, and we believe it is time for new leadership to take the party forward with unity, discipline, and care for the people who support it.
A political party should be a place of hope, service, and clear direction. When leadership becomes a source of strain and division, it is ordinary members, volunteers, and supporters who carry the burden. That kind of damage weakens confidence, distracts from the work that should be done, and leaves the party struggling when it should be focused on its purpose.
We are asking for a responsible step aside, not out of anger, but out of concern for the future of uMkhonto weSizwe. This is a chance to restore stability, open space for honest renewal, and put the interests of the party first. If the party is to move forward with strength, it needs leadership that brings people together rather than pushes them apart.
We therefore urge SG Sibonelo Nomvalo to step aside now so that uMkhonto weSizwe can rebuild, regain trust, and serve with a stronger sense of purpose.
