I honestly can't believe what's happened today.

In the space of just a couple of hours we have 10,000 more people supporting this petition. What started as a personal campaign has suddenly reached people all across the UK, and I'm genuinely overwhelmed.

The petition is now receiving far more attention than I ever expected. It's been featured by Change.org UK and is clearly being shared widely across social media, with thousands of people discovering and supporting it. It's amazing to see so many people who care about protecting our emergency services, countryside, pets, people, wildlife and communities.

Thank you to every single person who has signed, shared, commented and helped spread the word. Every signature sends a clear message that people want sensible, proportionate action to reduce the risk of preventable wildfires.

This campaign has never been about stopping people celebrating or taking away traditions. It's about recognising that our summers are becoming hotter and drier, and that selling disposable BBQs and fireworks during periods of extreme wildfire risk simply isn't responsible, alongside allowing people the ability to prepare for firework disruptions at all times of the year.

The devastating fires we've seen this year have destroyed wildlife habitats, put livestock at risk, threatened people's homes and placed enormous pressure on our firefighters and emergency services. We can't prevent every wildfire, but we can reduce the risk of those caused by avoidable human activity.

Please keep sharing this petition with friends, family and local community groups. Every signature helps show that this matters to people across the country, and together we have a real opportunity to push for meaningful change.

Thank you all so much for your incredible support. Let's keep this momentum going. 💚
