Change in HOA Leadership for Rosena Ranch

The Issue

Rosena Ranch Community, it is time to take concerns and issues into our own hands as we have been doing. Our board has been hand selected over the past ten years, never holding an actual election so that your vote matters on who you believe fits the interest of the community best and fights for you to make our neighborhood better and safer. The board members that are here for us are doing a basic and minimal job not making any effort to address the real issues. Our voices are not taken into consideration and the rules recently made for the pool and more have made us realize we need change.

In order to get change and better leadership and direction for the board members, we must start at the top with the manager who represents Sea Breeze. Lyndsey Dyer has responsibilities that are critical for improvement and direction of the board and the community and has failed at nearly every level. Lyndsey who is responsible for making things happen is not doing her job plain and simple.

A true leader who cares about their job, and in her position needs to see the issues and address them. Lyndsey has made no attempt to change the quorum number which is very doable. If this number does not change to a reasonably achievable number, we WILL NEVER HAVE AN ELECTION. I believe there is a reason she wants to continue having board members hand selected and not fix the situations we are in. This is not in any way moral or ethical. We really need to ask; do we want an association where our input means nothing. For the last two years, we continue to give contracts to companies that everyone has noted issues with and more.

We have asked continuously for a simple system used by nearly all major communities and cities to protect us, which costs a fraction of the amount recently spent for cameras protecting the pool. Why is the board and management association only worried about protecting their assets and not ours in anyway?

Lyndsey Dyer has failed to show us a transparent system in the CCNR’s for how they determine violations. For example, 75% softscape mandates. How do they assess 75% simply on a drive by? There is no set bail for citations leaving all discretion at the hands of the board and Dyer. There is no schedule showing what size each plant amounts to. These are guidelines common in most communities so that every stakeholder in the community knows what their violations could bring them. Its also the legal and ethical thing to do, to have a system in place like the way states have laws on the books, preventing “judgement calls and discretion” from being the deciding factor. When a person has too much discretion, the ability to harass is easier with no checks and bounds as to how things were decided.

As a community member and property owner for the last nearly four years, I have been as involved as they will allow to make a positive change. After looking closely at the matter and taking all into consideration that board members mostly never even ran for the position, we know for a fact that Dyer should be guiding the board and educating them on making the changes needed. She is not!

Most importantly, we can make change on our own and have proven how powerful we are when we come together to demand. Its time to make the board hear our voices and at least bring them to the table without Lyndsey to have a real conversation about the long overdue change that is needed. Our elections should not be a joke. Our citation process should not be a joke. The pool guidelines that are far stricter than CDC guidelines should not be a joke. The list can go on……
