Save Greenfield House

The Issue

Greenfield House can be found  at Greenfield in Alloa this B listed large 3 story house was built in 1892-1894 completion date. Inside are original marble fireplaces, beautiful stain glass entry way. Original wood panelling throughout   although much of the present house dates from a reconstruction and extension undertaken after a fire in 1914. The house contains many of its original fittings which include stained glass, plasterwork and wood panelling. Finely detailed with sculptured and inscribed panels. There is also a tower that gives panoramic views of all the County and the Forth right over to Edinburgh. The staircase to this view is a Metal Spiral Staircase.

The house has been left to go into some disrepair over the last 6 years and as a consequence vandalism has been occurring in it. Windows broken that are lead glass and interior lights smashed as well as the original fitting inside some of the rooms upstairs. There is water damage due to leaks and vandals deliberately turning water on in bathrooms to flood them.

There are other hidden gems in this house that will be lost and cannot be replaced once gone this is part of this County's history and should be preserved. Please sign this and help to save this building before it's too late. Save our heritage for future generations as well as those who remember this  grand house before it's shameful decline.
