I’m creating this petition in the hope that it will reach the Scottish government, and make them have a rethink on any further lockdowns. We simply can’t keep going back in to lockdown every time the numbers on coronavirus rise.
 Firstly, businesses are already struggling to survive, not least hospitality, and even more so since the ludicrous 10pm curfew. If we lockdown again - even a ‘circuit breaker’ lockdown for a couple of weeks - many businesses will not reopen. The economy is in tatters. So many people have already lost their job with more job losses being announced daily. I myself am still on furlough and am unsure whether I’ll have a job to go back to. 
 The first lockdown didn’t work, because as you would expect, as we opened up again, naturally the numbers increased. Also with more testing available than at the start of the pandemic it’s no surprise the numbers increased. Another lockdown will only see a repeat of this. We can’t lockdown forever. I believe that we need to learn to live with this virus. 
 It’s not that I don’t care about people and the effect that coronavirus can have on the elderly and more vulnerable, I do. I think we should protect them as much as possible. However I’m asking the Scottish government to consider letting us, the majority, of healthy people to carry on and keep things open. Of course, there is a risk of contracting the virus with this course of action. But it’s a risk I’m willing to take when I think of the alternative. For the majority of people, they WILL survive this virus. But if we keep locking down our lives will be changed forever, and most of the places that we love to visit will not survive. A lovely meal in our local restaurant, a drink with friends at our local pub, a night out at the theatre, going to see your favourite band play and shopping in your favourite shops will all be a thing of the past. These won’t be possible. Because there will be none of these businesses and venues left. 
 Not to mention the effect this has on the  nation’s mental health. 
 I believe we need to be sensible. Social distance and wear masks if we must, but  keeping closing the country down completely  is not the answer.
