To limit desert droughts (And stop climate change!)

To limit desert droughts (And stop climate change!)
The issue
We are Aylen, Ingrid and Zoe
Our petition is to reduce the price for electrical cars and to use more renewable energy around Australia in places like the city. As we know climate change is a big problem around the globe but 75% of that is caused by cars. Cars also produce the greenhouse gases nitrous oxide and methane. The only way around this (without not using cars all together) is electrical cars. Electrical cars do not burn petrol instead they use a battery. Sounds great right? Well less then 0.7% of Australia uses electrical cars. The reason being the price! The car it’s self is 50 to 100 thousand dollars. Not to add that the government is now charging you every kilometre you travel. The average car travels 37.9 kilometres everyday. That adds up.
Our idea is to save the desert animals. Droughts in the desert are a big environmental problem, as they tend to dry out waterholes or just water sources. Most animals in the desert can survive a week or more without water. Some need none as they simply get their hydration from plants. That right there is the problem. Without hydration underground, plants can not grow. Without plants lots of desert animals would die of dehydration. Not to mention the fact that many desert animals like to burrow underground so they can stay cool. Droughts can destroy animals homes. Making animals have to rebuild their homes in the deadly heat.
Only 21% of Australia’s energy is renewable. But take Denmark for example 47% of their energy is renewable. Why can’t we be like them? We have lovely fields and plenty of open space just to lay 4-5 wind generators that could make a big difference. Using wind power does not burn fossil fuels. The same with solar panels. Less than 22% of houses in Australia use solar panels. We need to raise awareness about this problem. The deserts are dying all around Australia, Oceania and the world. Please help us on our goal.
